Quick Review: This movie is outstanding. I loved it. It's an excellent biography of the aviation and film making years of Howard Hughes from the 1920's to the mid-1940's. The actors all do marvelous work. Leo is awesome but will probably not be recognized because his celebrity is still bigger than any role he plays. The women of the film, especially Cate Blanchett and Kate Beckinsale, are the stand out superstars of the movie. They are so perfect in their roles as Katharine Hepburn and Ava Gardner. The airplane effects are super cool too, especially the crash that almost killed Hughes. In the old days this would have easily been The Best Picture winner of 2004 but I doubt it will actually win. Martin Scorsese might finally win for director (he never has) but that might be the only recognition the film receives and for Scorsese any Academy Award at this point would be more of a life time achievement award.
